Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Many times, especially when the weather is colder, the manual transmission will pop out of third gear/grind/or will not even engage in third. this is dangerous, especially in heavy traffic or when turning a corner because it causes a quick deceleration and the person behind you can't anticipate that you are going to slow down suddenly because there is no braking involved. not to mention, after this occurs, the engine revs due to the missed gear, and you have to quickly shift into second or fourth gear to get going once again. this is a high rate problem and can be proven with a simple www search- it is all over the internet car forums and even has been reported by edmunds.com. some people say their dealer is replacing the trans fluid as a fix and it helps, others are doing it at their own expense because their dealer refuses to assist. my dealer won't admit to the issue. *jb |
