Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Due to being hit by someone running a red light i have a permanent neck injury with nerve damage. due to the weight of helmets, i can not ride for more than 30 minutes or so before i start to encounter muscle spasms, pain and headache, along with ringing in the ears. i do not feel that a mandatory helmet law is any safer than the device or will save any more lives as has been already proven. my (dot) helmet does not even have to have the manufacturers name in it, only that it was made in china, wow that makes me feel real safe. since you want this to be a mandatory law, should not all helmets first be tested before sold? shouldn't they be required to have warning that it will not protect over a certain speed, etc. i mean heck, didn't some motorhome mfr have to put a warning in their motorhomes that it was unsafe to leave the driver seat with cruise control engaged? can i file a suit against a helmet mfr if the helmet were to fail in a crash since those warnings are not in the device? but then how could i, the mfr info does not have to be in the helmet. unfortunately i can not wear one of those 15 pound monsters, but the one i did buy has dot on it...so that means it is safe, right? you know, i really don't think so. i mean it is only filled with an inch maybe of styrofoam... *tr |
