Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: 2005 chevy silverado 2500hd (duramax diesel). the speedometer suddenly stopped showing an accurate reading while driving approximately 10 mph. it now shows 55 mph while at a complete stop and pegs over 120 mph when driving on the interstate. this is a known issue with the 2004 model year, but i'm not seeing any info yet for 2005 (which is the model i have). this should be a recall from gm to fix this - rather than their tricky little "special" replacement rules that limit the fix to 70,000 miles. this is a huge safety issue - not being able to tell how fast i am traveling at any given time/not being able to trust my instrument panel readings. *tr |
