Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: 1990 ford f-150 truck has duel fuel tanks; fuel is pumping from the back tank to the front tank and over spilling through the fuel cap onto the ground. letter from manufacturer dated 7-19-2001 states that this is not a safety recall and therefore they will not correct problem. question: how can recalls from 8-15-1989 and 8-2-1993 which caused overflow and spillage be approved as a safety recall; yet the 7-19-2001 issue which results in the same overflow and spillage not be approved as a safety recall? problem with the overflow started in october 2007 -- fuel spilled due to cross tank fuel flow. at this point, only one tank can contain fuel and the other tank must remain empty for the spillage to cease. *tr
