Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I had my van towed in to the dealer because it wouldn't start. after checking it out they ended up replacing the alternator and battery. a little over 1 year later the battery died out again. after getting it in to the shop again they again said it was the alternator. well according to them the warranty was only 12 mths or 12,000 miles which of course was just past. after i kept asking questions i found that they replaced the alternator with a refurbished ford part vs. a new one. my complaint was why wouldn't they use a new one since it was still under warranty?? they said it was what they had and the warranty company okay it. so now my extended warranty on the van is expired and i am stuck paying over $400 to get another alternator since they were too cheap to put a new one in in the first place. the extended warranty expired exactly 5 days before the alternator broke again. when i talked to them they said if it's cheaper to bet a used one that's what they do if it breaks down again oh well. *tr |
