Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: I used the aevit emc electronic gas and brake in my adapted van. i am a quadriplegic. on a couple different occasions, the brakes seemed not as responsive. 2 1/2 months after having the van, i was driving on the freeway. i was going speed limit, and then i noticed that my side of the freeway was stopped. i started pulling back on the had controls to apply the brake, but the van neither stopped or slowed down. i had no choice but to pull over to the access lane, and i hit the cement barrier and totaled my vehicle. had i continued going forward, i would have killed me and my passengers, as well as a few other people in my path. the brakes failed to work. the equipment went to the manufacturer, who, of course, said there was no failure. as a matter of fact, the "black box" says that the van was braking and slowing down. it did neither. *tr
