Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: My 2005 altima was failing to start normally. i took it to my local mechanic to find out why. after some searching my mechanic found the crankshaft sensor was faulty and had caused other fault codes to occur. the car has approx 56,000 miles on it and i was told this problem normally should not happen with this amount of miles. when the part was picked up by the mechanic, he was told that eight of these sensors were recently sold for this same problem. i also checked online and found some of the same complaints from consumers. one person suggested a recall should have been made for this problem. the part was $42 but after diagnostic testing and an oil change, my bill was almost $200! i have been happy with the altima up to this point but feel there are several other altima owners out there who have suffered this same problem. if that is the case, a recall should be issued. if a recall happens to be issued, then i feel i should be reimbursed for having to pay for fixing my vehicle. *tr |
