Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: When traveling at approximately 60 mph my jeep began to shake violently throwing me to the side of the road and almost causing me to be hit by nearby cars and tractor trailer. i had to be towed off the highway. i was told by the dealer to come and pick it up the following day. they said that they could find anything wrong with it and to take it home. within 1 wk of having the vehicle back the shaking occurred again, this time luckily at a slow rate of speed. after slamming on the brakes the shaking stopped. i took it back to the dealership, this time they " "re-torqued" the front end to chrysler specs". i drove it home and it happened again within days. this time the shop forman said that he was not going to touch the jeep but would be making a call to chrysler. we took it on a test drive to try and replicate the problem. it did not happen while he was driving the vehicle. i left it with him, he called chrysler and told me to come and pick it up. i came and picked up the jeep without anything being done to it. a couple of days later the dealership called and said that they had someone from chrysler coming in to look at the jeep. i brought it back again (4th time), i was told that the person from chrysler replaced the steering. i looked under the vehicle and there appears to be a new part. i have not had the problem again to the extent that it happened the first few times but if i hit even the smallest of bumps the front end "bounces" (compared to shaking violently) until i brake. i am totally petrified to drive this vehicle and i will under no circumstances let my children ride in it. i will not take it on the highway because i am afraid of what will happen at a rate of speed faster than 30mph. *tr
