Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: We have a 2002 jeep grand cherokee and since the first month that we purchased it nwe we have had problems with the window regulators breaking. we have now had four to break in the five years that we have had the vehicle. the first one that broke was repaired under warranty, but the other three have taken place since the beginning of august of this year. the first window regulator that we had to have repaired by the dealership cost $422. we have not had the other two windows fixed yet, because we are hoping that daimler chrysler will help us out with this. i have contacted the customer service center and they will not cover the malfunction due to the warranty expiring. i feel this is an eventual safety issue. when the cable snaps it sounds like a shot gun firing, which could cause the driver to react to the noise. more than anything, i find it to be a manufacturing defect that consumer nation wide are having to pay for. i have read hundreds of similar problems of jeep grand cherokee owners on car forum websites on the internet. *tr |
