"whining" sound coming from the transmission when in 2nd gear after it has reached operating temperature. service advisor advised that its normal and no service is required even without mechanic to inspect the problem. advisor did not write up service ticket. later discovered a fellow owner had same problem and it found that the 2nd gear clutch was faulty and was rubbing the case from the inside causing the whining sound. case was replaced and sound was gone. another incident was discovered, and owner stated it led to complete failure due to metal particles circulating in the system destroying the other gears after prolonged use. *tr |
