Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Customer feels that the seat belts and the side air bags are a hazard and are not safe in a rollover**cc the consumer stated the seat belts are not safe in a rollover due to the incorrect assumption that the roof will remain intact. the consumer also stated the air bags are not helpful because occupants may have their heads thrown against the side windows by a previous maneuver or impact, before a side impact, only to have their necks broken by an inflating air bag. the head restraints have supports that are too weak to prevent injury in a severe rear impact. *jb the consumer wanted to share his continued concern with the safety of automobiles. updated consumer letter 07/22/10*jb |
