Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: Sirs, i bought a full sized helmet with dot label on it several years ago and found that it increased enormously the quickness and degree to which i became fatigued riding long distances. when i am riding, always trying to remain aware of the constant danger posed by inattentive auto drivers, i believe from my personal experience, that when i become fatigued from wearing a helmet that it makes it more difficult for me to be moving my head from side to side to devote the attention necessary to remain safe on the road. i believe that this results specifically from the bulk of these "dot" labeled helmets. i find that wearing what some call "novelty" helmets reduces substantially the fatigue, and riding without a helmet results in my experiencing no fatigue at all. i wonder whether you have conducted any studies to determine the degree to which helmet use results in rider fatigue and may translate into a greater likelihood that the rider will get in an accident. i note that motorcycle deaths are rising, and wonder indeed whether greater helmet use by motorcyclists may contribute to this rise. thank you for your courtesy and considering my complaint. *tr |
