Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: On 12/4/96 my vehicle's transmission started slipping.it was still under warranty at that time.it was taken into the ford dealership, where we were told that they had been having problems torque converters on these vehicles.a tork flush was performed and they told us everything would be ok.the vehicle has 30,000 at that time.on 6/2/99 we started experiencing the same problem.it again was taken into the ford dealership, where again they stated the tork converter was bad and they told us again that a tork flush would be needed.the vehicle at this time had 70,000.i addressed the problem at that time and asked why the transmission could not be repaired vs. just a tork flush.i was told " ford motor will only flush". on 12/18/00 my vehicle again started experiencing problems. it would now not go into "drive". the car has 90,000 on it now. the vehicle was taken to the shop and i was told that the whole transmission is out. on several occasions i have expressed my concern regarding flushing vs actually checking into the transmissions and still was told that ford will not do that, they will only do the flush. now i'm stuck with a car with only 90,000 on it and a transmission that has to be completely rebuilt. what ever happened to "ford stands behind their product" or "your satisfaction is our #1 goal." i have called customer service on several occasions and to date i have not once gotten a call back. i have decided that the only way to rectify this problem is to voice my concern my going public on tv. we have a tv station here called "call for action" maybe that is my next step. calling and expressing myself to ford does not seem to help. if ford really stood behind their vehicles, i would not be sitting with a car with only 90,000 miles on it with a blown transmission. if the problem would have be corrected in 1996 when i originally reported the problem, then maybe i would still be driving the car.i love my car, its ford motor company i am not happy with. |
