Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: My complaint is that the driver's side and passenger door handles split apart and broke off within two years of the van being bought. additionally, the interior latches which open the side and rear doors from the inside cracked making it impossible to open the doors from the inside. replacement door handles cost $95.00 each (according to johnson ford). johnson ford also told me that you cannot buy the interior latches without buying the entire door assembly ($128.00 each). when i complained to johnson ford, they simply said that that was the price of replacement parts. when i complained to ford, i was told that they appreciated my input. meanwhile, my wife and i transport ourselves and our six children in a van with faulty interior plasticware. i have jury rigged handles for the front doors and side/rear door latches. neither johnson ford nor ford motors wants to admit that the fact that these interior handles break so easily is a safety issue. i hope that you can do something to make ford take this seriously.
