| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: In early april of 1997 the gas pedal began slipping toward the clutch upon pressing it to accelerate. about a week after the orignal incident, the support bracket which is welded to the firewall to support the pedal and also act as a pressure point for the trottle linkage broke. the piece i am refering to contains a spring unit for the pedal. it seems that the pressure of the pedal wore the bracket, made of apparently aluminum, into at the folds which provide the piece a place to be spot welded to the firewall.*ak |
