Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: One of my oem general tires peeled like the atx at about 35k miles. general tire had me send in all 4 tires for evaluation, whereupon they offered to pay half the cost of any make tires, along with the body damage that had ensued from the peeled thread whipping the side of my vehicle at 50mph. nhtsa should issue regulation or at least warnings for tires which may be at risk in hot states like fla, where the tire construction is poor such as lacking a nylon belt etc.. we only had property damage, but risked being run over at night on a dangerous road, while changing to the spare. the atx is not the only problem tire with its construction, in a hot climate. maybe there should be hot climate type tires? or at least a warning label for types not passing certain tests for these environments. i can send in photos if you so desire. *ak( dot number: tire size: p205/15 ) |
