| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: The accident occurred while traveling northbound about 10 miles south of ocala, fl. i was driving along when the car started shaking violently and making loud thumping noises. i immediately pulled over and checked the tires. the tread had come off the driver's side rear tire. the tire was still infalted. i changed the tire and proceeded to my destination, tallahassee, fl. the next day, i purchased a new firestone tire but kept the blown tire. i showed it to another firestone retail center in orlando and the salesperson said it looked like a curing defect. we sued firestone and they settled for $1200.00. the car is my father's but i was driving it at the time of the accident. you can contact me at (850) 838-3508. ask for craig aubrey. we have since gotten rid of the tire but i can provide phote documentation. i can also provide paperwork from the lawsuit as well as notes i wrote following the accident. before we settled, firestone told my father that the tire was probably underinflated at the time of the accident. i checked the inflation of the tires prior to beginning the trip. they were inflated according to the pressure rated on the side of the tire. firestone wanted to tire to be sent to them but we would not fearing that the evidence might be lost (my father is an attorney).( dot number: tire size: p235/75r15 ) |
