Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I was riding through the rural countryside near where i live (kearney,mo.) on sunday afternoon. (7/25/1999). i was riding along on my 1997 suzuki tl-1000s when i rode over a rise in the road and hit a pothole. at first i thought i had blown a tire, i just concentrated on getting the bike stopped. the swingarm had sheared in half ! the bike had fallen away underneath me, and the suspension had collapsed so far that the exhaust header under the bike was crushed ! the rear tire burned a hole in the inner fender, the swingarm gouged a good sized impression in the left exhaust can, and the chained carved a notch in the side of the frame. i have a website with all the pictures pertaining to this claim. the swingarm weld at the pivot point completely sheared in two pieces.. the site is http://www.qni.com/~nyztyz/pothole/ thank you.. |
