Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: In august 1997 original manufacture battery leaked acid thus corroding the air bag sensor, positive & negative cables & corroding other metal parts to frame of the yukon. there is now visible rust due to the acid leak. gm dealer martin gmc replaced the battery under warranty. for the second time on 11/24/99 with the 1yr battery gm replaced leakage occured again. this time my anti-lock brake sensor light came on. needless to say, i had to pay out of pocket $543.94 for replacement of sensor, new front brakes, & new rotors for a vehicle with only 54,194 miles. also, gm refused to replace the 1year old battery that was leaking because the car was no longer under manufacture warranty even though the battery had leaked previously under warranty. they wanted me to purchase a batter for $80.00. i refuses & purchased a battery at walmart. this acid problem has caused irreversible damage underneath the hood & it is a recurrent problem. if this is a common problem is there any recourse in getting my money refunded? |
