| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: I do not recall the exact date last year that i complained to the local nissan dealer, and then wrote to nissan in california and had several telephone conversations with them. the exhaust manifold bolts are breaking on my car, causing a loud noise that the local dealer admits is a nissan problem that has been known about for a long time. nissan in california as much as admitted there is an exhaust manifold bolt breakage problem, and offered to give me a $500 certificate toward the purchase of another nissan. i only had 40,000 miles on the car at the time, and now have only 60,000. i do not want to trade. i also do not want another nissan since their refusal to fix what they know is a problem exists. yes, my car was out of the mileage and the years warranty, but a car that only has 40,000 miles should not experience this kind of problem. i have a 1962 ford falcon that has no problems and no recalls that i know of, and that has never caused me the first problem. i realize nissan is not going to do anything. but i think the government should force nissan to recall these cars on which they know they have had an exhaust problem for several years. |
