| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: The tire failed without any warning and created an extremely dangerous situation and loss of control. the tread was completely separated and the complete tire was shredded. i contacted gmc and they assigned an incident number of 99294608 and advised me to contact a local dealer. the local dealer said that the tire was not covered under the gmc warranty and that i should contact the local firestone dealer. the local firestone dealer advised that the tire failure was due to road hazard and not a defective tire, in spite of the fact that the incident happened on an interstate highway and there was no previous road hazard occurence. the tire disintegrated due to a high speed blow-out. the tire dot number begins with w2 and firestone kept the defective tire after i paid to have it replaced. *ak( dot number: tire size: p265r7016 ) |
