Was Vehicle Towed: - Description of the Complaints: Twice upon braking, a brake failure occured in which the brakes engaged and then suddenly the brakes seemed to release. this caused an additional 20 to 30 feet of additional vehicle travel on wet pavement. luckily there was no vehicle immediately in front of me otherwise a collision would have occured. it seems as though the abs system releases for too long. other abs systems i have driven in similar conditions on the same road did not present this problem. there was a constant rate of decelleration. this '98 rodeo had marked perceivable periods of decelleration and then acceleration (about 1 second) and then decelleration until a complete stop. this brake failure is extremely frightening. the road conditions were only wet.
