Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: On the above mentioned dates i encountered mechinical problems which consisted of my cooling system. i replaced the water pump, thermost, radiator, and timing belt. six months later my heater and defogger was working improperly. at the time i had no idea it was related to the first problem i encountered and i couldn't afford to take it in at the time. so i only drove the car when the temperature was at least 45 degrees or higher. after i finally paid off my car i was finacially able to take it in and had the heater problem checked out. i was told by covington pike mazda mr. sommers , that they were informed by mazda manufacturer in 1995 that these cars had a defect in the engine block that resticted the flow of the cooliant, which affected the heater/defrost/cooling system, and the only remedy was to buy a new motor. i contacted mazda corp. and got no assistance. i ended up buying a new motor from mazda on feb-23-99 and it was installed and returned onmar-05-99. my total out of pocket cost was $4925.60 which mazda refused to reimburse me for . i feel that because mazda knew of this problem back in 1995 when they informed the dealers with this technical infrmation. that any customer who encounterd these problems mazda would repair at no cost to the customer. *ak |
