| Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: The driveshaft detached from the transmission flange with no warning. the driveshaft fell to the roadway surface and caused the vehicle rear wheels to lock up. fortunately, the front of the drive shaft did not dig into the roadway surface which could have caused a serious traffic accident. the vehicle was rendered completely inoperable. this vehicle is a recreational vehicle and was being used to tow a large fifth-wheel travel trailer. the travel trailer was within the weight limits for the truck. the travel trailer sustained minor damage from the loose pieces of the driveshaft assembly. although used as an rv, this truck is similar to many other freightliner fl60 trucks in commercial service. |
