Was Vehicle Towed: - | Description of the Complaints: The fuel screens in the '99 model year fuel pump clog up completely causing the motorcycle to stall. the screen on my bike was removed by my local dealer at my insistance and cost and was completely blocked by a copper colored residue. i had been complaining about the stalling for three years without any resolution before i demanded that the screen be replaced. this issue is incorrectly addressed by a voluntary recall by suzuki. the voluntary recall replaces the screens inside the fuel injectors and the screen inside the tank but not the screen inside the pump itself. my motorcycle continued to stall after the voluntary recall was performed. suzuki has twice redesigned the fuel pump system on this model to address the issue on future year models. *ak |
