| Subject: SEAT BELT ROUTING GUIDE ON CARSEAT BASE | Summary: This investigation was opened as pe02-031 on march 12, 2002 based on two reports.the reports indicated that a vehicle seat belt routing guide on a cozy carry rear facing infant child seat base was damaged while the bases were being installed in a vehicle.the evenflo company, inc. has announced a recall of all cozy carry bases.all owners will receive a "free safety kit" for the seat belt routing guides.kits will be mailed directly to all registered owners. evenflo will issue a press release to advise the public of the campaign, as well as establish a web site (www.cozycarry.com) and a toll free hotline number (800-582-6698) to call.consumers should contact evenflo via the web site or the evenflo hotline number to register for their freekit.the nhtsa recall number is 03c005000. |
