Defect Summary : Vehicle description: passenger vehicles. the rear suspension crossmember may be missing spot welds. Consequence Summary: This condition can result in structural cracks in the body, and reduced crash protection in the event of a rear impact.
Corrective Summary : Dealers will inspect the vehicles for any missing welds, and will have structural rivets installed in place of the missing welds. Recall Notes: Owner notification began february 2, 1999. owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact chrysler at 1-800-992-1997.also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).
