Defect Summary : Vehicle description: motorcycles. the fuel hose from the fuel filter to the throttle assembly can rub against the bottom of the fuel pump plate and develop a leak. Consequence Summary: Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source can result in a fire.
Corrective Summary : Dealers will replace the fuel hose with a molded hose that curves away from the fuel pump plate. also, a new bracket and grommet will be added to hold the new hose in position. the fuel return hose will also be replaced. Recall Notes: Owner notification began december 2, 1999.owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact kawasaki at 1-949-770-0400.also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).
